Palatka, FL, December 3, 2019 – In order to better meet the needs of Palatka and the surrounding areas, Haven will be investing the time and resources necessary to refurbish the Roberts Hospice Care Center in the coming months. The project is part of Haven’s maintenance plan, which ensures that each care center is a welcoming and comfortable place in which patients and families can receive end-of-life services in a home-like environment. The Roberts Hospice Care Center will be the first Haven care center to undergo refurbishing.
In order to cause the least disturbance to patients and families, there will be no occupancy during the work phase, which is scheduled to be 90 days, from December 15, 2019 until March 15, 2020. During this time, the administrative offices will remain fully operational.
Haven’s Palatka team of nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains and physicians will continue to serve all patients in the area. Patients will be cared for where they live without any change. Room will be available at Haven’s other care centers to admit all respite patients, along with any patients who require in-patient care to manage pain and symptoms.
Haven is a not-for-profit accredited by the Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHC) and has proudly cared for patients for more than 40 years and looks forward to continuing high-quality hospice and advanced illness care for patients at the Roberts Hospice Care Center in addition to their homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
