Why Work for Haven?

Registered Nurses (RNs) are essential in fulfilling Haven’s mission of honoring life by providing comfort, care and compassion to individuals and families we serve. Haven RNs provide high-quality care wherever a patient calls home, whether that is in hospice care centers, homes or facilities. Watch the video below to learn about RN Case Manager Nancy Woods’ passion for hospice care.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are experts in providing compassionate care. Haven CNAs ensure that patients maintain dignity throughout their hospice experience. Watch CNA Gladys Nieves explain the responsibilities of a CNA and talk about her supportive team in the video below.

Haven social workers play a vital role in the hospice experience, providing resources and guidance for patients and families. Social workers also provide bereavement counseling. Watch the video below to learn how Social Worker Katherine Smith supports families in difficult times.

Studies have shown that attention to patients’ spirit and emotions is just as important as the medical care they receive at the end of life. Haven’s chaplains fill an essential role on a care team, offering support, a listening ear and helpful spiritual care. Haven Chaplain Arty Hart shared the following on the importance of hospice chaplains:

“Spiritual care for hospice patients is a sacred trust. Hospice workers are invited into the lives of patients and families at what is probably the most vulnerable times of their lives. Whatever a person’s spirituality, walking with them through this final life passage is an honor and a sacred trust.”

Haven’s nonclinical staff work in a wide variety of roles that support clinical staff as well as patients, families and the communities Haven serves. Associates in support departments use their expertise to truly make an impact. Watch the video below to learn how Marketing Specialist Hailey Reidy uses her Haven career to help others.

Haven Medical Equipment (HME) associates are essential in providing smooth and consistent patient care. HME staff ensure that patients are comfortable and have everything they need wherever they call home. Watch the video below to learn why HME Operations Support Specialist Edward Spencer is passionate about his Haven career.

Haven’s six Attic Resale Stores have an incredible impact on the patients, families and communities Haven serves. Attic associates work diligently each day to make a difference.
